After you brush and floss your teeth, do you ever wonder if you’re forgetting something? Well, you are! Many people forget to include the rinsing process in their oral hygiene routine, and if you’re one of these people, it’s time to change your ways.

Mouthwash is a beneficial and successful liquid that deeply cleans your smile and completes your oral hygiene routine. There are many different types of mouth rinse available today, including anti-gingivitis mouthwash, fluoride mouthwash, and bacteria-killing mouthwash, and we encourage you to include one of these rinses in your everyday smile care process. Rinsing your mouth with mouthwash each day will do many positive things for your smile, including:

• Freshen your breath
• Shield your smile from gum disease
• Protect your teeth from cavities
• Clean your entire mouth
• Slow the growth of tartar on your smile
• Remove debris from your teeth
• Eliminate bad breath
• Strengthen and protect tooth enamel

While you rinse, sip a small amount of liquid into your mouth and swish it around for 30-40 seconds, or however long the mouthwash label suggests. Then, once the time is up, spit the liquid into the sink. If the label has any additional instructions, please follow those as well.

If you would like to learn more about mouthwash or if you would like to talk to your dentist about the best mouthwash for you, we invite you to call our office today and schedule an appointment. We are more than happy to help you!
